How to tie in your chat client to CommandBar experiences

Adding chat support is very similar and only changes depending on which experience you'd like to add chat to:

HelpHub

Copilot

  • Visit Dashboard -> Copilot -> Settings
  • Open the Additional Resources section
  • Under Action, click the dropdown on the left
  • Select Open Chat
  • In the dropdown on the right, select your chat provider

Nudge (Product tours, Announcements, Surveys, and Checklists)

  • Visit Announcements
  • Add or locate a new nudge
  • Click the + button and choose Button
  • Click Add action
  • Under Action, click the dropdown on the left
  • Select Open Chat
  • In the dropdown on the right, select your chat provider

Spotlight

  • Visit Dashboard -> Actions
  • Create a new action or open an existing one
  • Beside Type, click the dropdown and choose Trigger
  • Under Action, click the dropdown on the left
  • Select Open Chat
  • In the dropdown on the right, select your chat provider

Common questions

  • I chose a chat client, why don't I see it opening?
    • CommandBar doesn't come bundled with chat clients, so make sure that your chat client is installed on your site.
