We intentionally keep our headcount low, so spend more time optimizing our hiring process than our size suggests. We optimize for speed, to help you understand life at CommandBar and in the role you're applying for, and for us to understand how you do your best work.

What ties our team together is a common obsession with building amazing software. In your application, tell us what excites you about CommandBar and the role you're applying for it. If you do this thoughtfully you are guaranteed an interview.

Founder chat

An informal conversation to understand your goals, interest in CommandBar, and to align on the role and interview process. The best candidates come to this interview with specific questions and having used our product in at least 1 app.

Case study

An untimed task that gives you the opportunity to show your skills. For some roles, we'll do a case study debrief session, and for others we'll assess your response async. Length != quality!

Onsite

Logistics permitting, we'll bring you to our office in SF for a series of interviews with team members. Before the day, we send you a list of what interviews to expect and how to prepare for each.

Reference calls

We consider these part of the interview process, not just confirmatory. We like to hear from a manager and a peer if possible.
